I was finally accepted after four years of entering into the Open Lens Juried Competition Exhibit. Although I did not place in the event, my work was seen. To me that is what it's all about. The really cool part was that they used one of my photos on their advertisement and flyer for the event.

I entered the same photos into The Veteran's Art Show at The Exhibit Fine Art Center and Gallery in Morris, Il. and will be showing them in the exhibit that opens November 8th. This one is a little closer to home so I am hoping more of my friends can make it out to this one and enjoy some art with good company. So as before it is a juried event and although it would be nice to place, it is not that important and is not what I am showing my work for.

I have loved photography for as long as I have had memories. I have always been so happy just to show my work to people in the hopes that they enjoy the photos that they are viewing and get any sort of feelings from them.

The first photo I call Big Brother for reasons I doubt I need to explain. These are the boys of a family I have had the pleasure to photograph for a few years now. One of the greatest pleasures I get out of doing photography is that I quite literally get to watch the children and families grow over the years. I have taken engagement photos of couples to their maternity to their newborn photos and then I've gotten to capture that baby smashing their very first birthday cake! In some cases I've been able to start that process all over again with a second child.

The second photo I will be showing is of a newborn of a family that I will hopefully be able to say the same about. This one I call Rock-A-Bye Baby. Again I'm sure you will understand why.

I hope you can make it to the showing in November. If you can not, don't worry. Here they are along with the flyer from the first and the advertisement from the upcoming.
